Introduction:
Lighthouse Fly Fishing Co. was created as a means to further Texas Saltwater Fly Fishing. I received my first USCG Captain License in 1998. At the time, I made my
home in Riviera Beach, located on the famed Baffin Bay in South Texas. Baffin Bay is undoubtedly the most difficult body of water to fly fish on the Texas Coast.
Faced with high salinity levels, ridiculous winds, the almost non-existent tidal movements and a lack of quality fly fishing structure, I quickly learned "where else"
and "how else" to locate and catch fish. Much of the water was off-colored, and the bottoms lousy. I created several fly patterns to deal with these conditions, and
luckily they worked then, and still work today. I no longer guide, but do still fish. My passion is ultra-skinny water. I want to see backs out of the water. I love
pushing the envelope on small flies and small rods (5 and 6 weights) on big fish. I have also created hybrid spinning sight casting lures which are a combination of
lure and fly. Sight fishing only!
My fly fishing travels have covered the entire Texas Coast, Louisiana, Cuba, Mexico and many Western States rivers and high country streams. All of these
experiences have culminated into many of my fly patterns, and the techniques I use on the water today.
I chose the name "Lighthouse" as much of my present day sight fishing takes place in Port Aransas, Texas. A lighthouse serves as a source of light and direction,
and that is my goal with Lighthouse Fly Fishing Co.
I hope you enjoy the site.

What You'll Find with Lighthouse:
- Proven, quality fly patterns for sale by myself and others. These are hand-tied at our own tables by our own hands, and do not come from overseas and
south of the border sweatshops.
- Up to date photos and videos. Anyone can send their photos at any time for everyone to see.
- Up to date fly fishing reports for the skinny water, the bays, the surf and offshore.
- Links to Guide Services, Lodging, Charter Boats, Fishing stores, Web cams, and whatever else I can dream up.
- Used fly fishing and sight casting gear listed here for sale.
- Instructional information for those interested in getting into saltwater fly fishing.
Where We Fish:
- BAFFIN BAY will always be "home" to me. Working the south shoreline beach, or the off-colored lakes of Alazan Bay (where the pigs regularly surface
for sunburns).
- Offshore GALVESTON chasing Tarpon and Sharks in the Beachfront.
- The PORT O'CONNOR jetties, flats and skinny lakes chasing Jack Crevalle, Tarpon, Sow Trout and large pods of Redfish.
- PORT ARANSAS in the Lighthouse Lakes, the "backside" of the Laguna Madre, Surf, and Offshore aboard the "Mo Azul" chasing Dolphin, Ling, Sharks
and anything else we can throw flies to. Especially PORT A since this is now where the new Gladesmen is parked.
- Beautiful PORT MANSFIELD at the East Cut and on the Sugar Sands dodging Sting Rays , and throwing to tails.
- PORT ISABEL on the white sands and grass.
- Plus EVERYTHING ELSE in between. Believe me, we have discovered a lot of water that is rarely fly fished and is regarded as "dead water" by many.
Some we'll share with you, some we just can't. You understand, right?
